PROBLEM

Outdated Oracle E-Business Suite ERP system

Client needed to upgrade to the latest EBS version to guarantee Oracle support service and future compliance. Oracle E-Business Suite upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2 including Oracle database upgrade. All on Oracle virtualization platform to leverage its advantages towards licensing and high availability.


SOLUTION

SRG offered several flexible, budget-driven solutions to the upgrade. After strategic collaboration with the client, a 5-month project was decided on, including 3 iterations to validate functionality, integration, and user acceptance testing. Daily calls, issues log, priorities, dates, and status update quickly mitigated any issues. 

We provided the flexibility of both time and resource allocation with SRG’s Flexible Time and Skillset Equivalent (FTSE). The approach allowed the client to access a comprehensive team of dedicated resources with diverse skills, providing only the resources needed at exactly the right time. This allows SRG to both collaboratively and efficiently support additional situations that arise during the project, always focusing on what was best for the client. 

We managed to improve the overall performance of business processes within the application, ensuring that there was minimal downtime during the course of the project (testing, various iterations, etc.). The client had a very customized environment that presents issues during an upgrade; usability doesn’t always function similarly. After reshaping many processes, queries, performance tuning, and adding new functionality, documentation, and training was given to users at the company. 

The client was then handed full functional processes assessment, a technical cookbook, how to clone, final configuration and release environment.
