We saved the client hundreds of thousands of dollars that would have been spent in upgrading to the latest version of software, just to get support from the vendor. The issue we resolved in Accounts Payable, a previous support party said was “impossible to fix”, allowed them to process payments faster and more efficiently, improving their supply chain and partner management. We also re-structured the architecture and infrastructure to provide maximum performance, high availability and licensing cost savings.

Problem

A unique check printing process that required an ancient enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to print checks with digital signatures. The 20-year-old ERP (SAP/Oracle Database) system was running on an outdated operating system (Digital UNIX), which stopped support in 2001. The client felt highly exposed when their third party would not support them. Ultimately, the manual process was costing them significant time and money.

We created and executed a proper plan to bring the old ERP back into compliance and function properly with all related systems. This allowed them to process transactions more effectively with a higher degree of functionality along with making the system easier to support and maintain. We did all of this by making the best use out of the client’s existing technologies without the need for any upgrades or added infrastructure cost.
